My love for drawing hands comes from the hand gestures that surfers make on the wave. I’m caught by the subconscious, balancing hand movements - as small as an adjustment of a single finger - making up the navigation of a wave. It feels like casting spells, like using magic to reveal a way forward.
An artwork I’ve been thinking about creating for a while.
This artwork was created digitally on Procreate with specialty brushes and my individually designed textures and lines. Please note, this has been reformatted to better suit A3 and A2 print dimensions, so it’s a little different from the artwork originally uploaded on Instagram. It’s then printed by me using a very, heavy, very large printer on professional grade, archival paper and packaged by hand. All my prints are shipped in heavy duty, reinforced cardboard envelopes and biodegradable, plastic free slips.
